|  Soul Society is a place for souls after death, a place where one can assume peace with a lack of worry, a place of happiness after the treachery of life. Soul Society is a place that in itself was created by the one known as the Spirit King long ago who transcended modern-shinigami and in terms was able to make worlds with his own power. Before the assembly of Soul Society and Kings plane of existence there was no home for dead souls and they were forced to become something heinous something destructive... A Hollow. It now has been thousands of years since the time that the Spirit King made this very plane of existence and it has been through many a trouble leaving the military force with no one but the King to stand and defend the whole of Soul Society at the risk of his own life. All members of the past military were defeated in a massive war between the hordes of Hollow. 
Over the course of the years that passed Shinigami became stronger and eventually adapted a ranking system consisting much like a modern military group; however, the highest rank consists of Captain rank while the lowest being students. During these years the Shinigami were not the only beings growing in power and maybe not even the strongest growing power in the dimensions. The hollow that ruled over the land known as Hueco Mundo. Their power levels rivaling that of many of the royal guard...This proved to be a tense situation in Soul Society. It was only a matter of time before one lone Vasto Lorde transcended into a new being, an Arrancar. These transcended beings were Hollow that gained shinigami power by breaking their masks to attain power beyond normally possible.
As time passed on more and more races of creatures appeared such as the Vizards which were one in the same in appearance to Shinigami, but with one exception. They attained hollow-like powers by losing themselves to the darkness inside fueled by hatred. These beings hated Soul Society and its inhabitants and their true intentions would shine true soon enough. With their new found powers and their knowledge of Hollow and Arrancar alike they made a treaty in order for a all-out war to begin against the ranks of the Soul Society.
This war would not prove imminent but over the next hundred years the Allied enemies grew in power and number. This started the war. The shinigami assembled in the human world in order to protect its inhabitants; however, at the loss of any and all advantages they may have had in their home terrain. This would prove to be a horrible decision due to the lack of knowledge of the total and utter betrayal of the Vizards. Using their powers the shinigami fought for their right to survive in a series of small battles and it wasn't until the true and final battle their fate was decided.
During the final battle that took place in the birthplace of the war, Karakura town, all shinigami fell to the evil that was preyed against them. Among the first to fall was the fabled Captain Commander who was said to lead Soul Society with a true and just iron fist that accepted no rule breaking. Not too far behind the commander was the near destruction of all Captains in a single blow from the Hollow God, Salem, to whom created Hueco Mundo long ago in the time of Soul Society's creation. It was assumed all was lost....until.
From the smoke and flames in the sky descended the Shinigami's creator and his disciples, the Spirit King and his personal guard. His power absolute as he destroyed the enemies that stood in his way, killing all who stood against him. His guard dispatched killing many of the evil allies commanders and destroying their ranks slowly but surely in the course of only one battle. In the face of defeat it seemed as though the Spirit King and his guard had saved the Shinigami...but it was too late for clearing from the center of the battlefield stood three entities. Their powers all rivaling if not on par with the king himself. The guard again dispatched in order to protect their king and his followers, but in the face of true evil their bodies were destroyed without much effort leaving only one man to stand against the three entities.
From beneath the ground shook crystals erupting from the powers of the Hollow God giving the King a chance of escape to fight another day. To build his lost capital back to its former glory without the knowledge of the enemy. Using his powerful control over his reaitsu the King disapeared into the crystals and smoke and using his own power to portal to his dimension forcing the human's to fend for themselves all alone... It has now been more than ten years from that date and Soul Society still lacks all glory it once had and shinigami are few and far between.In order to avoid unexpected visitors the King enabled a Kido that allowed noone other than saved souls into Soul Society through any methods. ○ Soul Society Created

The holder of this mythic title is Himimoto to whom was never a living soul, nor a dead one. It is said the Spirit King was born with the universe with his brother, Salem who with his evil intent became the Hollow God. He was the only being ofn Soul Society to escape the destruction of the war.First DivisionCaptain Commander:総隊長, Sōtaichō; Captain-General) is the supreme leader of the Gotei 13. The position requires the Captain-Commander to oversee the overall operations of the Gotei 13, Onmitsukidō and Kidō Corps when the well being of Seireitei and Soul Society is at stake. The only power the Captain-Commander is answerable to is the King. The Insignia for the First Division of the 13 Division Imperial Guards is the Chrysanthemum. The meaning behind the symbol is Truth and Innocence. As his leadership unites the Gotei 13, the Captain-Commander seeks out soldiers who can serve as examples for every other division. Therefore, being assigned to the 1st Division is a great honor. If, at first glance, this division seems too hard for you, keep reading. The captain occasionally throws parties for the squad, and holds other creative events, which make the hard work worthwhile. Another asset to this squad is the fact that its headquarters are located near the bath house, making it relaxing after a hard day’s work (and spying on the girls), one of the squad’s favorite activities. There currently is a lack of a Captain Commander in Soul Society due to the war.  | |
